Living the Dream, for 5 days now
We are in Rochelle, IL (near Rockford).
Day 1 was a fabulous ride from Home in Deltona, FL to Marianna, FL (west of Tallahasee).. We drove through the Ocala Forest and continued on Hwy 27 to Perry, through horse farms and back towns. The Hwy was 4 lanes, best pavement ever and NO traffic. The day was hot, but we were shaded by trees along the highway. What a delight. Then we stopped at Waukulla Springs state park and visited the old lodge there and on the back way, through Apalachacola Forest to Marianna.
This was our first stop at a Country Inn and Suites and the room was lovely.
Day 2 we drove to Decauter, AL, stopping for a visit at the Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, AL. Jerry could not make the grotto, as it was too steep, so I went through and took pictures for him and for you.
We spent the night at a Microtel Inn. It was new and also very lovely.
