Canton First Monday Farmer’s Market. Called this because the farmers in the area would bring in their produce on the 1st Monday of the month.
Now it runs the first Thurs., Fri, Sat and Sun of each month. It is HUGE.

Visited the East Texas Oil Museum in Kilgore, about 20 miles east of Tyler. This is a fabulous museum for history of oil. The town went from nothing to thousands of folks, overnight. Conditions were horrible. There was a pipeline – the big inch – from here to PA and NJ. The oil was sent east before the pipeline was finished, and the pipeline was done by the time the oil got there!

Drove to Waco, about 100 miles to the Texas Ranger Museum. Lots of ranger pictures and guns!
Visited Baylor College which was next door. It is a beautiful campus.
Walked the Brazos riverfront walk.

Gloria drove motorhome around Athens and over to Stayway Ranch RV Park and back and set up in a more level site at Lake Athens (the Ultra Modern RV Campground – grin).
